The right amount of omega-3 fatty acids (5-8 g per day) is beneficial because it helps to maintain the proper level of triglycerides in the blood and supports the proper functioning of the heart muscle, as well as influences the blood clotting process. Omega-3 fatty acids (or more precisely - decosahexaenoic acid) are very important in the proper development of the nervous system. For this reason, they are also recommended for pregnant women. The main natural source of these fatty acids is marine fish (especially mackerel and salmon). Among freshwater fish, the greater amounts of omega-3 fatty acids are found in silver carp (Hypophthalmichthys molitrix) and silver carp (Hypophthalmichthys nobilis).
